Rivalta di Torino (Italy), July 8, 2014 – Avio Aero, a GE Aviation business, takes part in the 49th Farnborough Air Show 2014 from July 14th to 20th. The exhibition area represents the Company’s role as a strategic propulsion technology partner for major global players in the aviation industry through four strategic product pillars: mechanical transmissions, turbomachinery, sand casting & additive manufacturing technologies and services relating to the repair (CRO) and maintenance (MRO) of aeronautical engines and components.

Avio Aero display area will be in Hall 4 at Stand B 7 of the Air Show pavilions. A selection of major leading-edge Avio Aero technological modules includes:
- The accessory drive gearbox of the new PurePower® PW1100G–JM engine, belonging to the PW1000G series of geared turbofans. This engine enables operators to significantly reduce consumption, emissions and noise.
- The accessory drive gearbox of the TRENT900 engine, powering the A380 airplane. Avio Aero is a Rolls-Royce partner and it is involved in the design, manufacture and overhaul of the engine’s accessory drive gearbox, oil pump and oil tank.
- The TP400-D6 power transmission: the largest power transmission ever built for a turboprop engine, which powers the new A400M military aircraft.
- The components which are made through the innovative EBM (Electron Beam Melting) additive manufacturing technology into the largest additive manufacturing facility that Avio Aero recently opened in Italy (Cameri - Novara).
Avio Aero stand at Farnborough Air Show will also feature the world’s longest Titanium Aluminide (TiAl) blade, produced using EBM Additive Manufacturing technology, along with the stator blades prototypes for the low-pressure turbine which have been designed for the new Leap engine of Snecma (Safran Group).
